Method 1. Visit the EASYSHARE Software Web and download the latest version of software. NOTE: EASYSHARE Software version 6.x or later must be used during this procedure. Connect the camera to your computer using a USB cable. NOTE: The first time you connect your camera to your computer, Sync and Transfer Setup or Sync and Transfer Assistant prompts appear on the screen. Follow the prompts to set up the camera as a device in the software.
Remove the memory card from the camera. Turn on the camera. Start EASYSHARE Software.
Select Tools Sync and Transfer Manager. Select your device from the list in the left column, and then select the Info tab. Click Update Firmware, and go to the location where you downloaded the firmware file. Click Open to copy the file from your computer to the internal memory on the camera. Turn off the camera, and then disconnect the USB cable from the camera. Turn on the camera and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the upgrade. The upgrade takes approximately two minutes.
When it is complete, the camera will delete the firmware file from internal memory. Turn off the camera, and then turn it back on again. Method 2. Remove the files from the memory card. Place the memory card in the card reader. Open the drive corresponding to the memory card to view the card contents. Check that a System folder exists on the memory card.
If not, create one. Locate the firmware file on your computer and copy it into the System folder on the memory card.
