Playing Ed Ps3 Games Without Jailbreak

Hey guys So it seems to be another way of injecting games into our PS3 OFW 4.81 without using a CFW ps3. People at spanish scene forum ElOtroLado.net have found 2 methods that don't involved using a Ps3 with CFW. Haven't tried myself but there are people over that forum claiming these methods work.

Translation by me Requirements: - PS3 OFW 4.81 - True Ancestor Backup Retailer - PARAM.SFO Editor - PS3 GAME UPDATER (or similar) - FAT32-Formatted Pendrive or External HDD There are two methods, each one works with certain games according to people's reports. If one of them doesn't work for you, just try the other one.METHOD 1- 1. Download game's updates via PS3 GAME UPDATER or related tool, extract them with PKGView from the oldest to latest in a same folder (i.e: BLES00404), always merging the older update with the newer one.

Copy and paste update folder's content (i.e. BLES00404) except PARAM.SFO, to our game's PS3GAME Folder, overwrite if necessary 3. Open PARAM.SFO file from the game's update folder with PARAM.SFO Editor and write down 'Version' and 'Appver' values somewhere, we'll use them later. Close PARAM.SFO Editor 4. Now we open the PARAM.SFO file from the PS3GAME folder, again with PARAM.SFO Editor and do this changes: A. In 'Category' change from 'DG Disc Game (blueray)' to 'HG Harddrive Game'.

In 'Version' change its value to the one we just wrote down C. In 'Appver' change its value to the one we just wrote down D.

Click 'Save' and close PARAM.SFO Editor 5. Rename PS3GAME folder with the same name of our game's update folder but with a 'GAME' at the end of it (i.e: BLES00404GAME) 6. Copy both folders (BLES00404 and BLES00404GAME) to the 'game' folder of True Ancestor Backup Retailer (TABR).

Remember to previously open TABR at least once if it's the first time using it and close it, then copy your PS3 backup in the 'backup' folder of TABR or you won't see all of the folders. Inject those 2 folders onto the backup of our ps3 with TABR, steps 1, 3, S.

Copy the resulting of the 'output' folder to a FAT32 pendrive or external HDD, then restore backup in our ps3. Process can be time consuming and is not 100% successful -METHOD 2- 1. Download game's updates via PS3 GAME UPDATER or related tool, extract them with PKGView from the oldest to latest in a same folder (i.e: BLUS30347), always merging the oldest update with the latest one.

Open PARAM.SFO file from the game's update folder with PARAM.SFO Editor and write down 'Version' and 'Appver' values somewhere, we'll use them later. Close PARAM.SFO Editor 3.

Click 'Save' and close PARAM.SFO Editor 4. Copy the edited PARAM.SFO file from the PS3GAME to the game's update folder 5. Rename game's update folder with the same name of our game's update folder but with a 'GAME' at the end of it (i.e: BLUS30347 - BLUS30347GAME) 6.

Cut this folder (BLUS30347GAME) and paste it into the 'game' folder of True Ancestor Backup Retailer (TABR). Remember to previously open TABR at least once if it's the first time using it and close it, then copy your PS3 backup in the 'backup' folder of TABR or you won't see all of the folders. Repeat step 1, that is, extract the or all updates from oldest to latest in a same folder (i.e BLUS30347), always overwriting the older update with the newer one 8. Copy all the content of the PS3GAME Folder (EXCEPT PARAM.SFO file) into the game's update folder we've just prepared in the previous step (BLUS30347), overwrite if necessary.

Copy the BLUS30347 Folder we've just prepared to the 'game' folder of True Ancestor Backup Retailer (TABR). Inject those 2 folders into the backup of our ps3 with TABR, steps 1, 3, S. Copy the resulting of the 'output' folder to a FAT32 pendrive or external HDD, then restore backup in our ps3. Process can be time consuming and is not 100% successful.

So, a couple weeks ago I was telling a co-worker how he can jailbreak his console, and what repercussions he'll experience from it, like lack of online, and issues with new games. He then asked me, 'Why? What do you have to do? Solder something?' I told him it was simply an installation on the console with games running from hdd, internal or external.

He then asked, 'Why don't you just burn them to a disc and play them?' I had to tell him that it wasn't possible, and he continued on. 'Then how come I buy games for $5 from my friend that are burnt and play them all just fine in my console without any hack or anything?'

I said, 'Nah, that's not possible, man.' But he seemed to push it, demanding he was telling the truth. I had to test this out so I asked him to let me see a few of the discs and bring them into work so I can take them home and try them on my legit PS3. To my absolute surprise.

The god damn games worked. They were simply empty-covered blu-ray discs, one on DVD, each with a code and initials to the game. I tried Uncharted 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Assassin's Creed(Not sure which, I never played them, but I believe it's the newest one), Marvel vs.

Capcom 3, and some random Billiards game. I could connect online and everything, and he literally sells for $5. Now, what I know about the guy(to sum it up) is this: He refuses to reveal how he is doing it, which is why my friend asked how he could hack his PS3 himself. He has connections in Singapore, which is where he is originally from before moving to the states. I tried entering the disc via my Blu-ray/DVD reader/writer on PC and it failed to open due to some protection I couldn't get.

So, with this. Does anyone know if there may be some connections in Singapore where you can get cheap, burned games and stuff? Because that's my assumption as to where he gets them. He probably gets them sent to him here, and splits profit after selling. This is all just my guess, but I've heard things about Singapore and how the market there sells lots of illegal stuff, even on the street, and that it is visited a lot by Indonesians and Malaysians who sell almost everything, including consoles, pirated/hacked/cracked/modded already.

Anyone have any other info about this? 3d Camera or it never happened you still got the disks? I don't own a video camera or anything, just a camera phone, and have never been active really on this website.

I expect a lot of skepticism, but it is true and wondering if there's anyone with connections to the Singapore/Indonesia/Malaysia market that can back it up or help me find out how to get these discs, or someone can find them, track them down, and get information out of them. I'm not a coder or anything, so just putting it out there. I can maybe buy a game and send it snail mail to someone in the hacking community who is known if they want it. It's theoretically possible that he's gotten his hands on developer codes and simply modifies the game data with his own 'recognition information'. Buying BD-Rs in bulk, and given that they likely cost much less in Singapore could allow him to still turn a profit selling here. The shipping would cost a lot less than you might think if you work it out properly. However, until the market sees an influx, I wouldn't bother trying to aim for this, it's too risky, the pirates who get the most attention are the ones selling copyrighted works.

Ima give you some friendly advice take the games and STFU (hate to be rude) but dont tell anyone dont run your mouth just play the games Just because on here you see this and that DOESNT MEANT that hackers already didnt or been figured out how to do that. Anyways if I were you I wouldnt tell a soul and just pay 5 bucks for the pirated games. (sounds bad but atleast im being real) Yes im pretty sure some people had figured it out already but most people arent attention seeking whores that call themselves devs that would post a link of it working on youtube and know what I respect these guys.
