Remington 7400 Rifle Serial Number Lookup
Remington has been producing rifles for almost 200 years. The company is known for the consistent quality of its work. Many of its weapons are used in law enforcement and the armed forces, as well as by civilians. Fortunately for collectors, it is not difficult to determine a rifle's age, as beginning in 1921, Remington began imprinting serial numbers on the barrel of each rifle it produced. These numbers – along with some basic knowledge about the rifle model itself – is all that the collector needs in order to determine the age of his rifle. Locate the serial letters on the left-hand side of the barrel.

The numbers are printed near where the barrel connects to the rifle frame. Compare the letters to the chart provided in the link in References 1.
The first letter represents the month it was manufactured, and the second and third letters – if there is a third letter – is the year in which it was manufactured. Determine when the specific model of your rifle went into production and when it went out of production, if applicable.
(See References 1) Because Remington repeated letters for several of its model years, you will need to compare this information against the chart. For example, a rifle could have a model year of either 1930 or 1956.
However, if you know that Remington began producing this model in 1940, you can determine that the 'made-on' date is 1956.

Remington Owners, Remington Year of Manufacture Codes maybe found on the barrel of your Remington rifle or shotgun on the left side, just forward of the receiver; the first letter of the Code is the month of manufacture, followed by one or two letters which are the year of manufacture. For shotguns with removeable barrels, the code will be valid for the manufacture of the barrel; maybe for the receiver, as barrels do get switched around. Hello all I am new to the forums and have read through some of the psot and found some very good info.
I was wondering if anyone could help me with a question. I recently will turn 40 and for a birthday present my dad surprised me with a nice rifle. I was looking at a camo 06 recently and he found a nice one. This rifle is a Remington 700.30-06 with serial number 293XXX. I think it was manufactured around 1967, but any expert imput would be great. It has a 4x leupold gold ring scope with it and the woodwork is a little different than on other BDLs I have seen.
Instead of a checkered it has some feathering around the corners. It has the black fore end on the stock and a metal buttplate and on the left side of the barrel beside the P are the numbers 3 and maybe a 9 (they are staggered in level of inpression). Something like this p 3 9 It is in 90-95% condition with no major marks anyplace. My question is could this be a C grade maybe?
And if not how can i tell if if is more than a standard BDL? Also, is my dating correct? Thanks and look forwarding to conversing with ya Roy. Serial number for artlantis 6 for beginners. Hi there, I am a 5th year architecture student. Normally when this happens I go to the download page and the new license number is there. Not sure what I have missed but my artlantis license has recently run out, and like normal on my download page on my graphisoft account it says 'go to download page for 1-year serial'. This time however it says 'no serial number required' and 'expiry: 30 days after installation'.
